I'm considering one of these for my next build. 4.125" bore with 350 mains. part number 31161212
I like the idea of .904" lifters but I'm not sure if I should budget for having them bushed or if they're ok as is. Anyone have any experience? Also, approximately how much more than a factory 350-400 block do these weigh. Dart says these weigh 175lbs, but don't say at what bore and or mains. Anything else to watch out for?
thanks for your help,
Lewy

Re: Dart SHP pro
I bought a new little M sportsman about 18 months ago.
Got machine work done and asked them to check index and size of lifter bores (842") and supposedly they did and they said dart lifter bores are usually very close.my opinion on bushing is dependent on what application but if a street/ strip type deal I would bush after they start to show wear and tear.
Just because a block is bushed it may not be right..
Dont know the exact weights but dart block approx 20lbs heavier than 010 350 block and a 880 roller block iis like a feather compared between the two.
Is the pro block you looking at raised cam tunnel ??
