New Z06 engine guesstimates?

Post by Jim2527 »

What do you think the new Z06 engine will make based on the following:

5.5L 335cid
Flat plane crank
DOHC
Normaly aspirated
8,500 redline
Smooth idle of 750?
3yr/36k warranty

Not as much as the version in Pratt & Miller's cars.
Two 2.25L 4 cylinder engines siamesed at the crank will take some mechanical chicanery to achieve a smooth idle.
There's a reason Ferrari never went that big in their v8s.

Im sure it will be a good engine. Assuming it will peak around 8000, my guess would be 600-625 in stock form.

Those are heavily restricted, btw.

I do agree there are some inherent issues with a flat plane crank that large though.
