How far in do you drive the rear cam tunnel plug? And does it effect cam location?
Switching a ft block to roller cam, was wondering if the depth of the rear cam tunnel plug plays a part in cam location in the block. A Google search turns up some saying to just drive it in flush, others say 1/8th in past flush.

not sure what kind of engine you have, most I drive in flush if it is a cup type plug, I usually put a little hardening permatex on them. Some engines have a flat curved plug, it has a shoulder and you simply flatten out the plug with a punch to lock it in place, it will be below the surface usually 1/8 inch.

Flush for almost everything.
Cam position is dictated by the cam gear. The cam can walk forward if not equipped with a cam button or retainer plate, but the gear face contacting the engine block dictates the depth. And the two holes in the back cam journal keep oil pressure from building up and driving the cam plug out.

Flush or a touch more if the factory over chamfered the bore. Too far and it pushes the cam forward, no good.
