Of course I told Mike this could be done, many thought I was crazy, but Mike made it happen with this survivor Monte, nice work! I can't wait to build my version: A 1970 ElCamino with a 2.56 gear, factory converter, and 650 HP with a lighter tire rim combination and a street drag radial, should be very interesting.
What’s the approximate stall speed of this converter and is it a 12” or 13” unit ?
I can't tell you, I don't have a tach in the car.

The factory converter is tight, but not as tight as a TH400 from an RV, tight.

The factory converter is loose, but not 10" Hughes, 3500 rpm loose.

I can't remember for sure, I did measure them, but I didn't take a photo (very much unlike me). I think it is about 11.25". The TH400 RV converter was 13" plus (might have been 14") and of course, the Hughes is 10".

The stud is in the middle

I agree, super fun car and glad I built it this way. Thank you!

Most of all, thanks for sharing your knowledge. Your 620 hp 467 videos are top notch. I studied them relentlessly, and took notes.

I can't wait to see your build come to life. It'll be hard to imagine you not going 10s, every other big block Chevy you've built has run 10s (peanut port, and I'm sure the smooth idle 427 will too)

It was mineshaft air most of the day. Here is the the processed weather data from airdensityonline for US 131 November 5, 2021. The correction factors use Pat Hale type formulas for each fuel type.
The correction factors were below 1.00 to barely above 1.00. Typical CFs are 1.03 to 1.06 for "average air". DA is just a temporary calculation to get to a proper SAE correction factor using Temp, Baro, Humidity and a real fancy expression to calculate water vapor pressure.

Yes, second gear, your input is always appreciated.
Racing a NA NHRA stocker should be mandatory before any posting.

First run was at 11:30 AM, last run at 12:30 PM.

The Draggy gives the DA in the screenshot. Only the last pass was flatfooted.

Very nice program you have there.

It's the Draggy app, which works with the Draggy Performance Meter.

Very very cool! Have you tested your 60 foot &/or 0 to 60 on the street with your Dragy? Mind sharing?

Those who want 2.56 gears and a TH400 to run on the strip, well good on 'em and they're going faster than most.

Those with experience, what would this combo turn with the optimum rear gear through a TH200-4R, TH700R4 or a TH400-GearVendors tranny setup?

Could you estimate my speed at 1/2 mile?

I’ve considered trying a 1/2 mile race.

I tried one time before rebuilding the suspension and boxing the rear arms, but I haven’t tried since. Not representative of what it could do now.

1/8 mile was 2.35, 8.65 @ 88.47.

I won’t run out a 1/4 mile on the street.

Back in '83 my '73 4300lb camino ran 11.86 at 129 with 3.42 gears, more tire, think it was pro trac's n50/15, don't remember if I got out of second gear T400 stock 350 furnace brazed convertor. 12"
