The baseline manifold will be the one currently running on the 434… an Edelbrock Super Victor II 2892.

Also, a friend has offered to lend me his Vic Jr. to compete with the Team G.

I haven’t considered running a tunnel Ram. That falls into a different category.

This is what I meant by risky. If they are in competition with the likes of a SV2 or Holley 300-25 and others in that category but need end user intervention to realize their potential then reputation problems could follow. A little like but not to the extreme of the old sbc G1 twisted wedge heads that needed close attention to setting up correct rocker geometry by the end user. Too many didn’t and blamed the head as being junk.
ChopperScott wrote: Fri Dec 30, 2022 8:52 am The Trick Flow was designed and optimized specifically for the TFS Super 23 230cc cylinder heads. For the price point, at only $400, the casting is impressive. I may leave this one untouched for initial testing.
It does look impressive by the pics you have posted and shows their opposition what’s possible otb. Can’t imagine grinding on that manifold would return much gains for its intended application.
ChopperScott wrote: Fri Dec 30, 2022 8:52 am The AFR Eliminator manifold is interesting....... If they spent the time and money to R&D this intake, why would one immediately remove the clover leaf?
Couldn’t agree more.
I’m a Street/Strip guy..... like to think outside the quadrilateral parallelogram.

My opinion is the Trick flow intake will be the best as cast intake manifold for your 434ci.
If you measure at the runner opening there is good area especially on the the longer runner.
I think I have mentioned before but carb pad is standard 4150 flange so opening that up and blended into the roof of the runner would be worth looking at.

The 2892 may be hard to beat, but I think the Trick Flow will be its top competitor.
Yes, the Trick Flow intake runner entries are surprisingly large compared to the other manifolds.
I think opening and blending the roof of the runner entries is better when a spacer is used. I will be using a Wilson 1" tapered spacer on the open plenum manifolds, but I'd still like to run the Trick Flow as-cast. I have an AFR 1" tapered clover leaf spacer for the AFR.

I would let Scott use my S/V II, but it might work so well he won't give it back

I'm way ahead of you. That's the manifold to beat! You haven't seen it on the bench because it's still in the car... :D

What was the difference performance wise over the prior intake?

This is the one I dialed the car in with this combo. I haven't run it with anything else.

This Pro-Filer Wilson is another serious intake manifold for SBC. A porter's manifold for sure. The fuel dam on the floor needs finishing work, as well as the ports...

Hey, could you tell me the size and manufacturer of this air cleaner and filter setup please? Points for part numbers too if they don't take too much digging...

That above was my attempt at replying with the pic from page one....

Hello there. I'm currently using an Allstar drop base, top, and spacer with a 3" filter to fit under my cowl. It breathes well enough to run 9.80's. That pic is a 5" filter with a K&N filter top. Allstar has a nice selection for different air cleaner combinations...

Thanks man.
Yours looked smaller than 14", so I was wondering what size it was. I've been looking for non logo ones around 9-10" for my tunnel ram.. that brand looks like what I'm after. I originally wanted a big oval r2c one but I'm not sure they're a reliable company anymore?
So yea, I liked the idea of two like yours..
