The Nostalgia Nationals were run at on Sunday. I went right into competition with NETO and ran a best of 1.37 60", 6.38 @ 107 in the 1/8, and 10.06 @ 133 in the 1/4. Density altitude was over 2500. Considering my goal is 10.00 @ 135, I think I'm moving in the right direction.
Is that an uncorrected time slip?
You're motoring either way but if uncorrected, you're really motoring.

On an earlier post in this thread he stated 3030lbs on the scale. It would be interesting see your ET predictions and back-calculated engine numbers.
The 26mph back end gain is pretty good.
I've got the car .09 faster in the 60 and 6.16 at 660 using a 5200rpm stall and 6700rpm shift points with average traction conditions at 2500ft. The dyno sheet doesn't run that far so swagged the last dyno point.
With a dialed in launch and perfect shifting, it's a 9.84 car all day.
Good job Scott, you'll hit your goal before the season's out.
for best HP prediction i would need all the ET and MPH incrementals :
ET's to 0.000 decimal places
MPH to 0.00 decimal places or even better 3 decimal places if Dragstrip reports that accuracy ??

what's ChopperScott's ET Slip Data ???
60 Ft ET
330 Ft ET
660 Ft ET
660 Ft MPH
1000 Ft ET
1320 Ft ET
1320 Ft MPH
1.37 60", 6.38 @ 107 in the 1/8, and 10.06 @ 133 in the 1/4
Density altitude was over 2500

Those are uncorrected numbers. It was 3030 on the scale at Lebanon Valley.

Make of it what you will.
Being here at elevation where the DA often exceeds 4000', I've taken to correcting my time slips as it gives me a baseline and something comparable to when I used to race at sea level. Or below.
Well done either way.

Always been my favourite era for Camaro.
Small rear window, open grill, bullet tail lights. They look good in all manner of racing.

ET and speed are very well aligned on the Moroso calculator.

Which carb would YOU run on this combo? These are the two I have on hand...
Holley Ultra XP 850
Quick Fuel Q-950

I had the Quick Fuel 950 on the car last time at the track. I made a number of changes including the carb, so no A-B comparison.

Scott,
I am curious when you ran XP 850 on dyno was there much jet change required to get it where it needed to be ?.
My neighbour up the road has loaned me his brand new in the box XP 850 if I choose,I am going to run my trusty 950 hp first but what I found with the XP 850 was unusual jet set up from factory.
As per photo the powervalve is in the front ( primary)

I read that thread and the QF 950 should ET better than the Holley HP Ultra like Mark J. says, just like my FST 850 vs did last year, that sucker had a super strong signal I am sure of it. The FST vs carb sure surprised me and I did not even get a chance to jet the thing yet. Me personally, I would be putting one of my Dominators on that 434 of yours, but that's just me.

Yes, it is unusual that the XP 850 is baselined with a square jetting...84/84. On the dyno, 82/82 made peak power with my combo. Last time I ran the 850 at ATCO, with a DA similar to dyno testing, I ran it with the same jetting. It ran a 10.237 @ 130.97 that day. 60' was 1.405.

If you refer back to the original post, my engine builder brought his carb guy with him to the dyno session. He built a custom 4150 1000 cfm carb, specifically for my engine. To my surprise, the engine was broken in and and tuned on that carb before I arrived. We ran the Q-950 next and it performed a little shy compared to the 1000 cfm carb. They thought a sale was in the bag. When I suggested the XP 850, I got a few strange looks. When it pulled bigger numbers, the look on everyone's face was priceless.

If I'm going to spend more money on a carb, it will be a Dominator.

If you get a Dominator that's a 1050 get the 2 circuit one and they run better and idle smoother down low. This is one of them to look for, Part #
