Re: AFR Eliminator Race Intake Manifold for SBC
Not the 4811, but I've got the 4810PM on a 406. Unfortunately haven't gotten it on a dyno with the new combo, but at the strip with 3400 DA it ran:
60'= 1.8 (255/50-17 Nitto G2's. Honestly surprised they did that well)
1/8= 7.62@96
1/4= 11.76@121
Definitely needs some drag radials next year
72 Vette, 3100 lbs, TKO600, 3.73, 26.5" street tire, setup for road course duty. It's amazing how much drag these cars have, most minivans have lower drag coefficients.
Dart SHP, Scat forged internal balanced, 10.7 CR
AFR 195 Comp heads
AFR 4810PM intake with the AFR tapered 4 hole spacer
Straub 233/235, .584/.544, 108 cam
Holley Sniper Xflow
1-3/4" primaries, 2-1/2" mandrel Magnaflow full exhaust

That was my first time working under a clover leaf. I understand wanting to remove it for ease of access. It’s a PITA avoiding damage to the carb surface. I do all my work at home with no access to a machine shop.

Just starting on this one. This is a nice design manifold to begin with but look how much corner runners can open line of site wise. This can be done to about any manifold if you just get creative. You can really get your runner lengths evened up.

With the bulk of the work done, and all the machined surfaces covered in torn-up duct tape, I removed the tape and took some pics. I will apply more tape and go back to work on a few details after inspection.

Re: AFR Eliminator Race Intake Manifold for SBC
We have a 421 that we bought ,it has that clover leaf intake. He Dyno it with a small amount of changes like you did. We welded around plenum and cut the piss out of it in the mill.We reworked entire intake then.Went from 744 hp to 786. It picked up the rpm it should of had to begin with. It was definitely the turd stuck in the tube of this engine. Now guy wants engine back since it runs like it should of.ChopperScott wrote: ↑Fri Dec 02, 2022 9:22 pmBye bye clover leaf?
Re: AFR Eliminator Race Intake Manifold for SBC
Look in pics you put up.At flange look at grooves or gutters that got made with grinder. They are right at edge of where wall and floor meet. Its super important to keep your floors flat.Fuel will puddle and run there. Not easy to keep floors flat but makes a huge difference in how the intake works.Same for floor in heads . I see pics all the time with this.ChopperScott wrote: ↑Fri Apr 07, 2023 10:03 am BURR finish...
