Lifter design

Post by Mat-it »

Looking for comments on the difference between these 2 lifters. Top one in photo is new Elgin roller replacement with inner metering disc and smaller oil hole, bottom is stock 351w roller lifter with no inner disc and larger hole. Wondering if the new one is going to provide same amount of oil flow.

Different lifter companies use different methods of oil metering [ to the prods ]. Much ado about nothing.

How big is the hole in your pushrod?

Pushrod hole 0.10, old lifter hole 0.10, new lifter hole 0.060. Just seemed odd to me but this is my first build, want to do it right.

The lifters meter the oil internally. A .060 hole is not a restriction.
