PLEASE HELP, need valve stem ht for obscure engine

IH international harvester 345ci. intake AND exhausts

thakyou so much! my AERA manual has no info on this.

I looked it up in Prosis under Navistar instead of IHC. Pretty sure they are the same ? What vehicle is it in, a Scout ? If so they show 2.095 - 2.125 Intake and 2.610 - 2.640 for exhaust

That is the reason to measure all the tip heights before you do any machine work.

Number the valves as to there original location stamps are the best way as they don't wipe off
That way at least you can put it back the way it was and know it would be not too much preload if spec's are not available.
That said even with the OEM spec's the possibility of the head having too much removed from the spring seat is always possible. But you can shoot for mid spec if the heads needed to be surfaced a bunch as they sometimes did after a bad overheating issue.

One head is still together...... but the stem tops all look different. Like some have been ground to death. So I plan on getting some valves

If you need the rest of the specs just ask but if you are an AERA member you should be able to get them :)

Try BinderBoneyard, all I/H stuff , my son uses them for his Scout.

"Stem height" only works if the spring seats are accurately machined.
