"408", with a 7.1" c/c rod, you have 1.58 rod ratio, better than many engines. I suspect under heavy loads, you will cruise at/near peak torque ?
This would be 3k rpm. +/- ? I would think using excessive rpm would affect lifespan. Personally, I would use a good quality, aluminum fast-burn head.
I suspect valves and seats will run cooler,( thermal transfer). Good long tube headers and low restriction exhaust.
