So much Work.. My Super Stock Induction

Post by SpeierRacingHeads »

I'm Old School to the bone. I have a program for these but I choose to spend 75 hours doing them by hand! It's a weird pride thing... I have things I'm going to try since they are mine...

You know I love burr and wings...

Heads are the 90947 angle plug Edelbrock. Manifold is Victor E. Combo is the '70 LT1 350.

Besides endless grinding and filling, it's endless CCing!!!

Nothing has ever been discovered or learned without stepping out and giving it an attempt. I like your thinking Chad, hope you are pleasantly surprised with the outcome. Mark H.

Are these the heads you showed in your YouTube video?

Any idea how these “substituted” castings compare to legal factory castings?

That is quite a reduction in port volume with the epoxy!

Yes all he ports will have epoxy. They come 185cc and rule is 172cc so they have to be shrunk.

Yes same head design but different heads.

The OEM isn't a fair fight anymore. These have 15-20 cfm on them.

NHRA makes you add 5lbs per to run them.

So 350/360hp is rated at 325 OEM and 330 aftermarket

Say you want to run a 10lb class. OEM = 3250 and AM = 3300lbs

Will the seat inserts on the Edelbrock heads take 1.94 /1.50 valves for engines needing that size valve as per NHRA .

These tools put a 2.200 intake seat ring in a head that can only have a 1.94 or 2.02. It's a MAJOR pain in the ass, and just stupid. The registers need welded. That big seat ring suck for a proper valve job.

About the best you can do, this top cut is .120 wide and still leaves a step.
