Cool car! They use timing controls for traction with a street tire, I use my foot & other tweaks. Actually picked up some 245/60R15 instead of the 235's I normally use. My C4 has the 225's on it that I orig bought for street fronts(burnout vid https://youtu.be/zMeDeJj2I3w )

My cars are no BBC pushing that much power but I'm not setting them up for prepped surfaces either.

I actually looked into shaving my tires but no place local was doing it, takes weight out of them as well.

I know as much as I can learn and try to keep an open mind to anything!

If I didn't overthink stuff I wouldn't be on speedtalk!

Back in another life, I was a Goodyear Tire Service Manager. We had to keep the tire shaving machine in the back room. Letting a customer see us shaving off rubber he'd paid for made him crazy. As tire manufacturing quality control got more accurate, the need went away and most of those machines were junked.

They still do it for AWD vehicles at some places that only replace one or two damaged tires, well back when I looked into it.

My brother-in-law followed this years back. At one point considered restoring one of his GTO‘s for it. It has definitely gotten a whole lot more competitive since then. Pretty incredible and very high dollar. There were rumors of chemically treating the tires to get better bite along with what was mentioned in the video. Wonder if there was any truth to that
