Narrow rings and heat transfer.

Post by mag2555 »

With today’s ultra narrow ring and the loss of a given amount of heat transfer to the cylinder walls I have a question of this.

What is the tipping point in terms of ring thickness and HP per cid and where a thermal coating should be applied to the piston tops ?
You can cut a man's tongue from his mouth, but that does not mean he’s a liar, it just shows that you fear the truth he might speak about you!

Not sure on the tipping point, but piston oil jets are a big part of the strategy in getting them to work / last.
