Pro systems carburetor
Has anyone had any dealings with a Pro Systems Pro Series 4150 or the Venom VX 4150 carb? This will be street driven application. Replacing a 4779 with a Pro Form center section. Thanks.

https://youtu.be/Sk8QaXnOCFs I know several people that use his carburetor and they had no complaints and he will also help with tuning are any other problems you might have.
Re: Pro systems carburetor
Are you buying it used or direct from Pro Systems?wilson1970 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 03, 2022 6:31 pm Has anyone had any dealings with a Pro Systems Pro Series 4150 or the Venom VX 4150 carb? This will be street driven application. Replacing a 4779 with a Pro Form center section. Thanks.
If your buying direct per your application then you should be good, if your buying it used I would contact PS first to confirm it's theirs and what you need

Re: Pro systems carburetor
Then you should be good, I have a friend that has been running their carbs on his cars for several years with good results and customer service.

Re: Pro systems carburetor
This past year I ran 2 of the new FST carburetors on my race and street car. Both have performed well, it's too bad they are so hard to get right now. Lot's of great features for a good price.
Re: Pro systems carburetor
I'm running one on my car, so far it's pretty good. Needs a little fattening up but I haven't had any issues. Standard 4150 HP style main body with E85 metering blocks.
Re: Pro systems carburetor
I ran a 4150 style on a 540 HP 377 SBC (4.125" x 3.5") in an autocross car. Dealt with Patrick directly and he delivered a carb that ran flawless. I drove this car to and from events, bumper to bumper traffic, then routinely hit 7200RPM+ on the track. It never missed a beat. If I needed another carb, I wouldn't use anyone else.
I wonder how many people would still be using carbs instead of EFI if they used someone like Pro Systems to set it up.

Re: Pro systems carburetor
My suggestion for a budget carb contact ATM. Otherwise get something custom from a more reputable company.

Re: Pro systems carburetor
I am running a Venom VX on my 408 Mopar.
Only complaints are that the secondaries stick open and wont seat back onto the idle stop.
I also wish it had replaceable power valve restrictors ... maybe they do now as mine is about 4 years old.
Speaking of 4150s ... whats up with the new Edelbrock ? Are they ever going to release it ?
I like all the adjustability on it .

Re: Pro systems carburetor
I ordered a 4150 this morning. The VX was too much for my mild combination. Really liked the black option but didn't want to pony up the extra cash. Looking forward to compare to the 4779 that I currently have. Thanks

I’m on the fence so this isn’t a rebuttal of sorts but can you elaborate on “more reputable company.”?jmarkaudio wrote: ↑Wed Apr 06, 2022 2:07 pm My suggestion for a budget carb contact ATM. Otherwise get something custom from a more reputable company.
I’m a Street/Strip guy..... like to think outside the quadrilateral parallelogram.

I can't add anything good about pro systems other than I make good money fixing them. I agree with Mark 100%Arthur wrote: ↑Wed Apr 06, 2022 8:58 pmCrossing plenty of lines here..jmarkaudio wrote: ↑Wed Apr 06, 2022 2:07 pm My suggestion for a budget carb contact ATM. Re: Pro systems carburetor
I've not had good luck with them. The two I tried were down on power. I prefer Book or Brasswell for competition carburetors.
