Factory style roller lifters vs link bar style

Post by travis »

I've never compared the 2 side by side...

Is there a significant weight difference between hydraulic rollers of the factory type vs link bar types? And how much does this affect valve spring requirements? Talking about sbc and sbf here for the most part

there's another option ... one that Many pros insist on ... Keyway Lifters and Keyway Bushings ... google.

If looking for cheap ... not so much

For the type of stuff I build, keyway lifters would be dramatic overkill. I've seen them mentioned on here numerous times but never really looked into them until you mentioned it...and damn 😳

I don't think weight of lifter plays much of a role in what you and I do.
I would be more concerned about valve weight, spring / retainer for application.
