352CI SBC 400 block/3.25 crank/Ford rods-anybody here done this

Post by Bob Hollinshead »

Has anybody here done this build? I have some questions https://www.airflowresearch.com/412-hp- ... afr-190cc/

I have a chance to buy a set of these JE pistons. The pin height looks like it will work fine with a 3.48" stroke and 6.125" rods. I wonder if they used .927 chev pin diameter or if this designed to work with the FORD 6 rod pin diameter whatever that is. A few pics from the seller:

6.125" rod is way too short...do your math again.

It would need a 6.250" rod with that stroke.

Same piston will also make a 6.0" rod , stock stroke 406"......which will blow the doors off that weenie 352" weakling.

Never give up cubic inches unless a rules limit says you have to.

Eric, thanks for the input-I know a 406 would make more sense but reread my post. I think my math is correct on the 377 with this piston and a 6.125" rod. 29cubes less than a 406... 1/2 stroke is 1.74" + 1.15compression height +6.125 rod = 9.015"

Think your topic title threw Eric off, you started out talking 352 CI and now it's a 377

Yup title and entry did but original post also said this:

I got an answer to my question if anyone else is looking for it down the road. The pin diameter used in the JE pistons for this setup is 9.10
