LS Chevy Hydraulic roller lifters feedback

Post by Dragsinger »

This buildup will be a relatively mild 6.0 engine with cathedral port heads. Also with a carburetor in my street/strip 53 Studebaker. The upper RPM will be limited to 7000 RPM. It will be played with on the street, occasionally taken to the track, car shows, and parades. I am expecting horsepower in the 525 range, N/A.

Which hydraulic roller lifter is giving good service in this application?

Johnson!

I dyno'd a 355 holden 2 weeks ago with them in it, holden does not have the large base circle of the LS to help things, but we spun it to 7000 with no issues.

Sounds like a perfect candidate for the stock LS lifter to me.

GM# 12499225

Make sure it's this part#. When you google this part#, you will find some companies selling cheap lifters as replacements for this part#. Make sure it's a GM lifter with this part#.

Yes, there is a lot of bullshit out there. A lot of people using that part number to sell junk.

I recently had to purchase a set, this is the best retail price I found for a guaranteed authentic set of gm 12499225 lifters. Quite a bit lower than summit, jegs, speedway or lane/midstates charges. Not trying to plug the guy, just a really good price. Local gm dealer wanted $300+ for the exact same part
