BBC cam bearings

Post by AA Performance »

World BBC Merlin III block takes Durabond GMP12 cam bearings to suit 2.120" OD cam bore. What is the difference in the Dart 32210010 bearing set which they use for Dart SBC with BBC cam tunnel. Also whats the difference in the Dart cam bearings for the BBC 32210030 as I think they are also 2.120.
Thanks Guys.

In the Durabond sets the small block bearings are narrower than the big block ones. That is probably the difference.

Thanks Bill, are the Dart 32210030 a direct replacement to the Durabond CHP12 ?

That I don't know. The set that Durabond shows for the Merlin block is a GMP12LT It says they have an od groove and 3 oil holes. I don't know if there is any other difference between that set and the CHP12. Pretty sure that CHP12 only has one oil hole. I dont have one to look at. If I have time later on I will try to look at all of the dimensions. I would tell you to call them and find out but considering where you are ....... :)

Much appreciated Bill. The CHP12 do only have one hole and they seem to have measurements similar to standard SH616S clevite as they have 3&4 the same, 2&5 the same and 1 on its own. Wonder if the GMP12LT are the same.

The bearings in GMP12LT sets have an O/D of 2.120 and they are all the same.

Seems the GMP12LT probably fit the Dart blocks with common OD size. I know that Dart and World both use different 55mm cam bearings also as they both have different OD size but matching OD on all 5 bores.
