I'd let it set overnight... Can't believe you carved right thru the pushrod pinch already.. At least if there is a area that is easy to repair its the pinch area in the intake port. ,(stays cool when running)The biggest skill is keeping stuff even.. On iron heads I found a hand flat file helps a lot for keeping the walls straight. It actually cuts pretty fast...
I trust you have long shank cutters for reaching in deep to carve the bowl around the guide boss.
You can cut the (long) shank cutters a bit shorter for stability in the die grinder.

I always do the port flange opening LAST.. As we all are tempted to (over) work that area as its (Too) easy to get at.

Take your time. Take frequent breaks ( its not a race )
Its when you get fatigued that you tend to make mistakes. Nothing done well gets done in a hurry.

Funny on how that was the only port that did that but the new Splash Zone took care of that problem real quick. I like the had file deal, I may try that on the next head. I am just cleaning these up like the Iron Darts I have and then off to the bench to see how much difference there are between the ral and fake Darts.

2nd head I did today went much better using the mini-belt sander to grind the pinch open. Worked very well.

That sounds cool, do you have a picture of the mini belt sander in action?

Is that an attachment that goes on a typical electric angle grinder?
