Spark Plug Help

Post by Elroy »

Anyone know if NGK makes .750 reach, gasketed, 5/8 hex non projected, resistor plug in 8 heat range or colder? Or even .708 tapered seat in 8 heat range?

Pretty sure the .708 reach doesnt exist.

But.....NGK'S numbering system makes me crazy.

I have used the -10 heat range in a couple of nitrous engines.

Im not seeing any availabilty on either, maybe they are an Aus thing? I saw specs on the bpr8es being 13/16.

I dont know why NGK has to make it so hard.

What are people running in LS's etc making big horsepower with electronics requiring resistor plugs? Brisk?

Go to their race plug series, whole different numbering system though.

The race plugs are non resistor. But yes, much better system

I Know you are looking for a non projected tip plug, but if you think you can squeeze in a projected tip plug then NGK BKR9EIX stock # 2669 is what we use on high compression or boosted EFI engines.

Thank you very much. Ill take a look at those. Projected would probably be just fine in a 9 heat range. There seems to be a hole in the plug market for these kind of plugs. I have many friends facing the same thing.

Only in a non-resistor in an 8 with that package. R5671A-8 / #4554

A "slant ground strap" with that package in a 9. R7434-9 / #4660

They also offer a 6 or 7 in a .708" reach, taper-seat, resistor, non-projected. BR6EF / #3177 ... BR7EF / #3346

All around that configuration but, not exact.

Thanks. Yeah BR7EF seems to kind of be the end of the road as far as heat range goes with .708 reach non projected. Thats what i've been using in stuff like this. But would be nice to have something colder in some applications that are making big horsepower and require a resistor.
