Linetoline break in
Has anyone that uses the linetoline skirt coating ever broken in the coating other than the way they instruct us to.
Re: Linetoline break in
I have had pistons coated, properly broken in. The coating must be gradually worn in, I assume to avoid literally tearing it loose from the piston skirt due to too fast of a run in. It comes on the pistons about . 0025 too thick so it can be worn in gradually and soak up oil in between cycles. If you try and break it in in one heat cycle, I assume it will fail .

Re: Linetoline break in
Would not the break in for the L2L and proper ring break in be the opposite of each others needs ?
Re: Linetoline break in
If you would coat pistons and the coating would not survive the ring break in process what exactly would the point be of the coating?
