sbc camshaft bearings
There are different types. What is the consensus on the type to use with a steel roller camshaft with pretty strong springs.

I use the seamless, machined "Performance" ones from Dura-Bond.Belgian1979 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 11, 2022 3:39 pm There are different types. What is the consensus on the type to use with a steel roller camshaft with pretty strong springs.
The regular and performance bearings are the same lead, babbit material however, the Performance ones are also burnished to increase fatigue life.
The Performance bearings are also available "coated".

I just bought some Durabond for my next SBC project. Have always worked well for me with any kind of camshaft.

Cam will be sitting on a film of oil, alignment of the tunnel after bearings are installed is important as is knowing there's no metal slithers in the grooves after installation, bearing choice, meh, alignment and cleanliness are the keys to success.
