Valve spring for a steet car.
What valve spring would you run on a street car for reliability? SBC with 126 gram intake valve and a Lunati 255/264 @50 .665 lift with 1.6 rockers. Lunati said 74650-16. 235lb on seat and 587 open with 503lb/inch rate.

Monza's recommendation is a good one.
Another option would be PAC-1237X (requires a 1.800" installed height.)

One of the main criteria here will be the available installed height.
Somewhat handy with a die grinder.

As noted - PAC 1243 with a tool steel retainer.
"Quality" is like buying oats. You can pay a fair price for it and get some good quality oats,
or you can get it a hell of a lot cheaper, when it's already been through the horse.

Look at Manley 221443 with tool steel retainer. Just another option.

Comp 919 will also fit. They are close to half the cost, are they a gamble?

If a customer was concerned with reliability in a street driver, would any of our SBC experts have a discussion with him about the tradeoffs of a .655" lift 587# open setup?Howard Healy wrote: ↑Fri Sep 23, 2022 10:22 am What valve spring would you run on a street car for reliability?
