Call and talk to Pete Harris at Crower, he's the man. Might be able to grind it .010" and re nitride it. I looks like surface checking from heat probably fixable.

Might have to go down to 1.88 journal to get through the cracks. But as said, I would call Crower direct.

Re: Sbc Crower crank repair
mdabbott2009 If that is my engine or build , I would get a new crank , it's showing you that it is DONE and you are just lucky it is still in one piece , why take a chance on either spending money for repair and losing your engine versus spending $1300.00 ( just an approx price ) and have a NEW unstressed crank , your used crank is already a lightweight stroked crank that has had the living hell beat out of it. That type of crank has a lifespan and it appears you have found the limit. JMOmdabbott2009 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 20, 2022 1:15 am Can anything be done with this crank

You're not going to buy a Crower crank for $1300. In my opinion, those are not stress cracks but instead, heat cracks. Stress cracks usually show in the radii. Have the crank fixed, loosen up your clearances .0005". Think King allecular bearings, use a thicker oil and better cooler. I hope at that rpm it is already dry sump or very short tracks. Crank surface shows "trash" has been run though, I would bet you are using a tri-metal bearing and it just started scuffing and here's what ya got
