268HP iron duke.
So, hi.
I came here to post about my build.
1990 s10 iron duke.
.040 over, 8.2:1 pistons
Grand canyon gap on the rings
Bigger valves
.485 cam with stock rockers
Bosch 1000cc injectors with 68psi base fuel pressure
A coil pack from a Pontiac torrent but only using 4 towers
Flex fuel usually 68-73ish % ethanol
And between 14-36psi of boost from an eBay clone gt3582 turbo.
Arp half inch studs with 98lbs on 1-4 and 7-10, and 104lbs on 5-6
This is just the engine, the rest of the truck is built for drifting.

Those used to be popular midget engines, made high 300hp naturally aspirated. I know there are some circle track truck classes that use them as well. For it being boosted sounds like it’s a bit down on power. Welcome by the way. I believe there a few people in here that can help you more than I with making better power

edit, oh, in the thread title Yes... I did a gaerte/rodeck block with an sb2 head I had welded/ported by Dave Bamber and my custom camshaft that Steve Lowe Sr did for me to my specs, it made 946hp @ 18lbs and I quit, stupid crap didn't have a single head bolt to the mains to keep the block from splitting. Everyone at the dyno session wanted me to turn it up on the boost, I said no and left

In 2007 I built a 202 with a KRP block and SB2.2 head. Dominator carb. It was a Comp Eliminator engine.
It knocked on 500hp at 9200.

Chad, I can't see the details of the manifold. In my mind, that isn't what you wanted. I was soooooo pissed when I spec'd this engine and the fool that made the intake manifold I designed didn't do it even near my spec. He told the shop that he was "the guy". I looked at it and said to my customer, "well that's 50" 50 more he asked, NO, 50 less. The individual cylinder trims proved that. Focking idiot, Fack, I don't need practice

How was AFR distribution with those single 4bbl Holleys on those engines? I’m not going to lie, I think an inline 4 looks right with some big honkin’ stacks off each cylinder, but if it works!

Also just to clarify, that 268 is at the wheels, through the t5, 4th gear, and 3.73 rear end.
Could you elaborate on how they made 300hp?

If I was to do it again, it would be injected. We fought run over in the carb, you can see we used a vibration spacer. It was all in the accelerator pump diaphragm. And notice the pop off in the manifold. It didn't come that way, I added it later. I was pitted next to another 4 cylinder car one year and he was having trouble starting it. Long story short when he finally did, it popped and split the center of the manifold like a tin can. It was ugly!

Very cool "old" engines.
I had some experience working on an old IMSA Fiero. 2.7 liter SD pontiac engine with high port aluminum heads.
Ultradyne solid roller, Jessel shaft rockers I recall.
Used large side draft 50mm weber carbs. Ran very well.
A few years later went to Cosworth Racing in Torrance CA and purchased all the leftovers from the Pontiac Cosworth project.
2 complete 3 liter Pontiac engines (405 HP @ 8000 rpm) with a truck load of parts (pistons, cams etc...)
Those ran quite well in the 2000 lb IMSA Fiero.
Did vibrate like crazy - had to safety wire everything!

Chad, that looks similar to the one in Coan engineering race car. Yo the OP these were all on aftermarket parts. Rodeck/gaerte or arias blocks etc.
