Excellent. What does it cost?

Its Vintage Racing stuff, it expensive. I don't have all the roughing passes written to go at it from scratch. So like mine Bill did the base milling and then I'm running my EMC spec cuts through it and the final valve job surface etc.

These aren’t the old Valley Head Service heads with the Street Master work (paid to have my 289 castings done to this spec and got upgraded to the race program in around ‘95 due to a mistake by the “old man”) nor the old Thumper heads (loved that guys stories). But you know this.

I remember the SBC fireball ones that crane sold.
The where port matched picture perfect and polished like a Jem, unfortunately it was mostly good looks that they had because they only flowed about 12% over stock.

The big ass port match on the exh side made for reversion like mad also!

It sure shows you what the dollar isn't worth today. They spent a day just finishing those heads. Crane ported alot of heads. Head porting was a legit business in the day. A buddy of mine had 6-8 guys just porting every single day.

Paid over $1,700 in 1995 money for my heads from Valley Head Service. Wasn’t cheap back then for a very inferior product.

In 1968 Ford Motor Company was going to offer a High Output small block engine and casted special heads having better ports but, then decided against the project.
Crane bought all those special cast heads from Ford Motor Company and ported them to become their small block Ford "Fireball" heads.
In my opinion, their round exhaust ports were their downfall.

They "Fireball" ported regular heads as well. Round ports work very well as long as they don't have flare.
