Anyone make it to the end. FE's can use the same trick.

Yes, can you explain the spark plug modification, in more detail and what plug did you use?

The plug is 1" reach from a modern powersports vehicle, available at most motorcycle shops. The adapters are the trick. Making so that they can installed and semi permanent or quickly removable for a/b testing is a little more difficult. Our test versions were a little tricky to deal with but doable. To sell them we did some re engineering. A production run wasn't made for reasons stated in the video.

this might be a dumb question, but because I will be bored this winter, I plan on porting some 65 289 heads and put chev valves in them. is it worth the time and effort to pour aluminum in the exhaust crossover? It is just something to do. I plan on having them flowed when their done

It depends on who you talk to. Bill C has told me they are not seeing any difference on the dyno one way or the other. It looks right and been done many times over the years. If you have ability and want the challenge I'd say do it. If you don't do it I wouldn't sweat it.

Any of you FE guys pick up on the spark thing.

With a closed exhaust system it will make no difference.
If getting an open header exactly in tune, it could mean a few horsepower.

I like that spark plug mod. I've got a pair of 351w DOOE heads that flow almost 250 cfm (243 @ .600) and i'd love to add that mod to them. It also takes up a couple of CCs of space to raise compression.

I used to buy a like item from Garret Machine when they were in business.

Those plug adapters worked great in FE engines and early 385 big blocks, as well.

How much timing would doing something like that take out?

There's some very long-reach long-projection spark plugs out now so it seems like you could put the spark almost wherever you want it if you can get the heat out of it.
