We are straying a bit far here. I dont want to turn it into a grocery getter, just tone it down some.

Ford racing sell their 363s with super victor manifolds, with a 232/240 112 LSA HR. Thats half the overlap of the 236/248 109 LSA cam I am currently using. I'd like to do something similar, but with a mild solid roller. I think one of these comp street rollers will achieve that, just not sure how mild to go, as it is not easy to directly compare SR vs HR by advertised numbers.

I could put the 4x44IDFs in the shed on it to calm it down, but they are a bit small for a 347, especially with this cam... The EFI is also very convenient.

I’ve done a bunch of 347’s and almost always use airgap style intakes . One I did with an OTS hydraulic roller went 462 hp recently. That one had a larger cam than I would typically use ( low 240’s @50)
Have not had it on the dyno yet. One day

I think if you contact Mike at Jones Cams (Camking) and explain what you like and don’t like about what you currently have he will fix you up and you will be happy.

So....

Who came up with that profile?
"Quality" is like buying oats. You can pay a fair price for it and get some good quality oats,
or you can get it a hell of a lot cheaper, when it's already been through the horse.

Great suggestion, thanks

Its not important - no issue with the original, just going a different direction now that the usage of the vehicle has changed.

Classic big cam stuff - runs great on power, fine on flowing roads, but is tedious in traffic. It was built to see the track but never does, and it would be nice to be able to throw the keys to a family member once in awhile.

Current combo:
347 SBF
Twisted wedge 205
Shaft rockers, LSX valve train
Super victor EFI
1 5/8, 1 3/4 step try y headers
236/248 @ 50, .608/.600, 106 ICL, 109 LSA Hydraulic roller grind - running solid roller lifters. Intake closes (@50) 44* ABDC. I only have the 50 specs unfortunately.
10.5:1
8" vac at 850 rpm, 14" vac at 1500 rpm, no load
3.89 gears, 4 speed manual

I'd like to to keep the existing liters - bam bushing solids. Bad experience with the original hydraulics and don't want to remove the heads again. I'm not racing, so not concerned with loosing some HP. I do enjoy the moderate (7k) rpm capability of the current combo.

To keep things simple, I'm considering one of comps smallest street roller cams:
XR268R 268/274, 230/230, .589/.602, 110 LSA
XR274R 247/280, 236/242, .602/.608, 110 LSA

As I understand, being solid roller grinds with appropriate lash ramps, both of these should be significantly smaller than the current hydraulic roller cam, and sensible on the valve train. I would consider getting one ground on a billet core.

Would they both be steps in the right direction? Too big/ too small? Interested to get some thoughts.
I have not read this entire thread so it may have been mentioned.
The Summit brand, "303 Plus" hydraulic roller camshaft number SUM-8901 works very well in a regular street driver.
224/232@.050" - .550"/540" valve lift - 114 separation; +3 advance.
Their SUM-8900 has even a few less degrees duration, same lifts.

So why not get comp to do a custom SR grind with similar lobes on 112*?

Then it wouldn't be a 128 cam.... just kidding of course.
