5.7 Vortech gaskets

Post by Tom68 »

Mostly after sump gasket recommendations, but full sets to.

Bloody expensive in OZ, so don't wat to pay a lot of money and still end up with crap.

I have never had a problem with Fel Pro. I use their updated intake gaskets with the metal carrier.

The one piece oil pan gaskets are nice, just make sure you get the right one for the curved rear & front parts. I've used cork and rubber ends but with RTV on the cork, a one-piece is much easier to clean up after removal LOL

One-piece felpro gasket comes with 4 plastic corner holders that make in-car installation much easier! It also has metal inserts so you can't over tighten it But if your oil pan is in bad shape then it'll still leak. Even the worst pan may leak with a cork gasket and lots of RTV

Make sure the pan rail is good and flatten any dimples around the bolt holes out, had new pans with dimples or warped rails.

Then of course there is ring blo-by or vac-pumps
