deck height

If i drop the deck height from 0.016 thou down to 0.026 thou
and then drop the head gasket thickness from 0.038 thou to 0.028 thou to compensate for the lower deck height
Will this have any effect on performance
Technically the quench height will remain the same
Or should i reduce the gasket even more to reduc the quench to 0.038 thou
All this so i dont have to pay for custom pistons

I just worked it out that 26 thou down the bore and with a 38 thou head gasket that it will have a quench distance of 64 thou
It gets my compression ratio right up to 14 to one but that quench will kill me
Correct?
