have there been any advances in guide material for the guys running big spring pressure (>1000lbs over the nose)? I have thought about running a stelite guide with a little additional clearance, but worry about it's ability to get the heat out of the valve...plus if it starts to wear, watch out!
Thanks
Dennis

Re: guide material with big spring pressure
In the Pro Stock engines I use the Beryllium guides. They DO NOT wear out like the bronze guides. They are much stronger and can take a lot more heat. I have had them in heads for five years before replacing them. I can also bullet them in the exhaust ports without having them flake, crack and melt away.airflowdevelop wrote:have there been any advances in guide material for the guys running big spring pressure (>1000lbs over the nose)?
