World Man O War Ford block, Any heads?

Post by phoenix »

Anyone know of heads being developed to take advantage of the extra head bolts?

You dont need the new block for the extra head bolts. You can do that yourself with the regular parts if you have the time & capacity to make the tooling. I had made a jig w/tooling to do just that. It's effective, but uses a 5/16" fine thread button head bolt in the port with a through hole from the top of the head for access @ sb/bb chev. The outter bolt is also 5/16 & uses a drill bushing w/ 'O' ring to seal the water. The bolt size is limited by the available area 'FOR' the bolt in the block & is tedious when tapping the hole due to part of the tread just touching the cylinder wall. This is all accomplished with the fixturing in place & transfers over to the head using the dowel lcoations. Only around 30,000 psi load but enough to seal turbo applications. The limit would be the variatons of cylinder head castings & jacketing issues but, it has been done here. I have not performed the pressure film study to reveil the actual print.
