I have a 1989 K1500 4x4 that I am redoing the brakes to the twin piston front calipers and twin rears with drum in hat rotors. In a previous life the K1500 had the rwal removed and re plumbed with the MC front nipple feeding front brakes, rear feeding rear (backwards). I've ordered a 2008 Express 2500 disk/disk MC it's feeding a '99 disk/disk proportioning valve, is there a front and rear bias/orientation to the new MC?

Can you post a pic or two of the mc?

I know earlier ones were standard but I have not looked at later stuff. I know the ford stuff of that era was not interchangeable.

This one is coming- 2008 Express hydoboost with 4 wheep disk. Feed back so far is that front and rear port have same output with any changes applied in antilock unit.

For fitment, there is one adapter needed at front port, and whether or not hydroboost as the rear is machined different diameters.

It does not look like it, but I like plumbing it as factory did. Looking at that master cylinder and specs it should not be an issue. Good luck. Its funny as I almost did the same thing with my old body style Tahoe swapping it over to the later equipment as that era stuff sucked.

Well, I did the 2500 front calipers, and a disk kit for the rear with D52 calipers. The D52 calipers have been replaced several times over the years for seizing-poor design, the 'interface' of the bigger front calipers gave some wear pattern issues. Looking at the retro fit- looking positive.

If done correctly the ABS should not be effected. That is all done post master cylinder and as long as the wheel speed sensors are properly working there is no issue. Now there is a possibility of ECS on later cars being a problem if the brake sizing is not kept in reason, but still that potential issue is slim.
