Don Terrill’s Speed-Talk

My 69 el camino has developed a snapping sound. When I turn the steering wheel to the right and then back to the left, it will make a loud "SNAP" sound.

My car has new SC&C (SPC) upper and lower control arms, Lee steering box, new Hellwig #55703 sway bar.

The noise comes from the upper passenger side spring pocket in the frame...





Any ideas?

I would pull the spring and possibly lube the ends, it sounds like the spring is not rotating in the spring seat.
