What do you use the keep carpeting from moving? I saw a product, sticky string adhesive that does not fully harden. Cannot locate it any more.

I do not want to use spray adhesive.

Do you think if you cleaned things well enough that a double sided tape would work, something like a 3M product?

3m super 77 if you want it semi permanent. General trim adhesive works as well.

This is what real upholstery shops use. DAP Landau. Contact cement. Brush it on or spray it with a gun.

You can also find regular DAP contact cement at Lowes and other places. Would work fine for carpet. Brush it on, allow it to flash, then install the carpet. Got to let it flash off before you try to install the carpet or it won't work/stick/hold.

I've used a lot both products in my work. Landau works better for headliners, regular DAP works great for carpet.

EDIT: I see the OP asked this almost a year ago. Sorry. Maybe someone will find it useful though.
