Tire clearance
What's safe clearance between the leaf springs and tire sidewall when narrowing a rearend on a street car?
Re: Tire clearance
I have run them as tight as a 1/8 of an inch. Haven't seen them scuff the sidewalls, even with a little shaking.
If it has a spool on the street, that's where it might scrub the most, with full lock maneuvering.

Sidewall deflection is affected by rim width. For example, a 295/50 tire might be specced to use 8.0" to 10.5" wide rims, but the former would see more deflection under a given sideload.

Thanks for the replies Bill and Mini, I went with an inch cause I'm a chicken. I guess I need to start a new thread about
my disc brake issues.
