I like most all the GM stuff. Even a few Fords and Mopars.
I love the '57, 58 Chrysler 300 Letter cars. If I could go back I'd buy a '58 300 D Fuelly car. For those that don't know Chrysler was the first American auto company to introduce electronic fuel injection in 1958. Unfortunately there were a couple bugs in the system, (poor quality capaciters) and all of the systems were recalled and 2x4's were installed in there place. There is one '58 Desoto Adventurer Convert that has been restored with the correct fuelly system in place. Dave

favorite 50s
1955 Chevy 2dr sedan[with post] 256 power pack [4bbl duel ex] First factoy chevy hot rod ;Bel-Air of course. My dad actually bought one. Used in 1956. The mother of an army private killed in korea? wanted it gone. two blocks from our house-word of mouth adv. WE had it until 1959/60? and sold it for? The damed choke on the 4jet never worked right. I remember my first experience as aVERY young mechanic helping my mother get "the car" started in the dead of winter,no garage in Buffalo,N.Y. [my dad used to ride to work with co-workers very early in the a.m.] Those were the days-were they not?

I'm sure there were manufacturers that had mechanical F.I. before the late fifties but Chevy had it in '57, i'm sure that precedes Chrysler's '58 one. I think the '56 Chrysler 300B is the prettiest 300.quickd100 wrote:I love the '57, 58 Chrysler 300 Letter cars. If I could go back I'd buy a '58 300 D Fuelly car. I'm not talking about mechanical fuel injection, Chrysler had an Electronic Fuel Injection System. Correct, Chrysler developed it (electronic FI) along with Bendix. They latter sold all rights to it to Bosch, Bosch took off and ran with it.quickd100 wrote:I'm not talking about mechanical fuel injection, Chrysler had an Electronic Fuel Injection System. Dave
