I'm pretty sure he asked to have his account deleted. He thought Don was plotting against him or something strange because Don agreed with someone that he always argued with in a thread so he thought Don was taking sides or something crazy. It may have been someone else but I'm fairly certain it was Joe 90.

Yea, that was him. You can see that the Joe 90 account no longer exists in this thread. He is now user 23911. On a side note, headguy is also gone.

Interesting. The quoted text includes an ad for "mobile casino" that's not in the original.

Averysk is upset with you.

Stop counting your change and noticing things!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I think I have told this one before:
In California I used to buy combo meals at MDs in the drive-through.
I calculated the tax in my head and thereby the total but I was surprised when the total was off by some change.
I confronted the cashier who informed me that since the manager programmed the register it must be correct.
I figured out that what they were doing was charging the tax rate on the individual items rather than the combined total. I left a message for the manager who never called me back.
After no response I called the state tax office (cannot recall the official name) and asked, "Can I charge whatever I like for sales tax and then just turn in the correct amount and keep the difference?" "Oh NO, sir!" "Well, that is what a local restaurant is doing." "We'll speak with them."
Time goes by.
I buy another combo meal and nothing has changed. I called the local newspaper (yes, they really did exist back then) and told a reporter about what was going on.
I get a phone call from my Sister in SoCal who tells me that I am in the news, described as a penny-pinching customer. The restaurant was contacted and in the newspaper the owner reported that he has spoken to me and the short-lived mistake was corrected and a check for the total amount (less than $100) was donated to the local library. :roll:
At that point in time I would just shove receipts into my glovebox. I looked in there and I found one from over six months prior. I went around and tried MDs in the area and further into the state. It only happened with a group of restaurants owned by this local franchisee. Rough calculations indicated that he was probably bringing in about $30,000 a year from this -- more than enough to make payments on the bright red Ferrari he drove and parked at the local MD.
Corporate MD was contacted and they put a stop to it within 30 days.
That's because Averysk is a spammer. It just quoted the previous post and added his own sneaky link inside the quote (the link is harmless now btw).
Just hit the [!]-button to report these things if you spot them.
