I can plainly see the ghost of EMC of the past few years ... the April 1st deadline of "participant disclosure" has come and gone.

What else would you expect from a bunch of magazine jockeys trying to run an engine contest.Walter R. Malik wrote: ↑Thu Apr 04, 2019 2:23 pmI can plainly see the ghost of EMC of the past few years ... the April 1st deadline of "participant disclosure" has come and gone.

I have learned to EXPECT nothing. A whole lot less stress that way.Curtis Z wrote: ↑Thu Apr 04, 2019 7:39 pmWhat else would you expect from a bunch of magazine jockeys trying to run an engine contest.Walter R. Re: Engine Masters 2019
What if my chosen entry is not on the NHRA list?
I selected a 410 Mercury engine - mainly because I could use up some inexpensive parts I have laying around.
And because it was kinda weird....
It has a 390 block and a 428 crank.
Built in volume in model years 1966 and 1967 for full size Mercury cars
I had an earlier answer to a couple questions, but nothing recently.

I love it, Barry ... NHRA is not GOD after all.
Any C6 or C7 cylinder head for an FE should certainly be considered legal.

They said first week in April. The first week has come and gone, and still no word.

Re: Engine Masters 2019
Here is the information I have as of last night. Most of the selections are done and sent into Hot Rod to be emailed out to us. There are a few Early Iron entries that need to be called and get more info before they can be given the OK. Like their entry only said "Big Block Ford", etc. They could take one more LS. There are plenty of Early Iron, and most were accepted. So all I can say is watch your emails. Kaase

Re: Engine Masters 2019
After days of searching, I just can not locate any findings showing 1966 or 1967 Mercury Monterey cars with a 410 engine being converted into "stocker" type race cars; or, any of the "land yacht" passenger cars becoming race cars, either.Barry_R wrote: ↑Sat Apr 06, 2019 8:47 pm What if my chosen entry is not on the NHRA list?

Looked to find a near 5,000 pound 1968 Lincoln Continental with a 460 engine or a full size 1968 Thunderbird with a 429 engine ... with no success.
These, and the engine specs for probably several other vehicles, just are not gonna be shown in any NHRA competition guides, even though many thousands of them were manufactured and sold everywhere.

Re: Engine Masters 2019
Has anyone actually received one of these e-mails yet? I guess if you don't get one, then you were not selected to participate. Correct? Maybe a roll call of those accepting and engine of choice or is that not acceptable?

I've heard nothing. But I've got a sweet set of JE pistons, and tracked down a 68' block. 65' 289 as discussed here.
