One of the most moving places I have ever visited. My GFather fought at Omaha.

The Longest Day does not do it justice; at low tide, it's a mile from the beach head to the spot where our boys were dropped off. Can you imagine running a mile, into heavy machine gun fire, with your buddies dropping like flies? I can't. The paratrooper (dummy, of course) shown hanging from the church steeple is still there, as well.

It should be on every American's bucket list. While you're there, visit Pont DuHoc.

The folks surrounding that part of France still treat us like royalty to this day.
