Engineers Share Features That Exist 'Cause People Are Stupid

I know the voice can be annoying.

Pretty much on the money. But there are those out there that can beat any intended safety feature. Years ago it was called 'natural selection' where those that lived dangerously died earlier, now legislation is in place to prolong the existence of those that tend towards stupid or blind behavior.
There was an infamous character called 'Chopper Read' who said the immortal words of " Fear is Gods way of stopping you from tongue kissing tiger snakes".

I have a book that was written during WW2 by a guy called W J King called 'The unwritten laws of engineering' the book is not about stupidity as such.
It is about things like office politics [not the current PC version] like knowing your place in the office hierarchy ,and expediently getting design from the board into production, and not dwelling on designing the perfect part that doesn't get made because the job has moved on faster than the part.
