Mail in voting

Post by Dave Koehler »

Note: Not talking about absentee voting.
Are you guys getting mail in voting shoved, I mean recommended to you?

I got a letter from the local circuit clerk to return IF I wanted to vote by mail.
What concerned me was that it was written in such a way that a lot of folks will think this is the only way they can vote now.
No mention of voting in person.
The circuit clerk website has a big ole banner pushing mail in voting.
I will be voting in person.

We did it for the primary but we have the choice of dropping the ballots off at the board of elections. They have a drop box in front that is available 24/7 I felt very comfortable with that. We did get the form to send in for a mail in or absentee ballot (same thing) but in no way have I felt or heard anything that would make me feel that is the only way to vote. If anything our governor has been really talking up the in person voting sites that will be available.

I would prefer taking a chance with the post office over that drop box.

I like the way in person voting works here.
My identity is confirmed. I fill out the ballot.
The ballot is handed to a judge who asks you if this is your signature.
He/she then puts it into a machine while I watch.
It reads the ballot, sends the results to the county main computer, stores the data, and stores the ballot.
It is as close to real time voting as it gets I think.
I get my little sticker.
I prefer this way over trusting a drop box and someone that manually reads and records my vote.
Note that not all precincts are this advanced.

I spoke with a county board member yesterday. There seems to be valid concerns over our circuit clerk and not only with voting.
Long story but I expected him to be indicted from the day he took office.
Anyway, they are pushing the mail in vote hoping the students will continue to vote democratic as is the norm.
This year many of them are not on campus due to the Wuhan and that is the mail in votes they want.

I have never thought it was correct but here out of state or country students are allowed to vote in the local election.
Guess which party shoved that through?

The other problem he said is that there is not enough republican money to pay for a republican voting overseer. He said it's also hard to find people that want to sit there for 10-15 hrs for a couple hundred bucks. So polling places are lopsided with democrat workers and judges. What could go wrong?

The problem with the mail in voting is that there is no accountability. At least in the voting booth there is a measure of accountability. Also a lot of these states are not set up to receive the amount of mail in ballots they are talking about. As stated above it will be a cluster f**k to the nth degree. I vote no on mail in ballots.

Good reasons for voting in person.

B2o
3 or 4 states have the mail in voting for years. They say there were problems including security that had to be worked out and that took time.
I think I heard that at least one state voted on it before instituting it. I have no problem with that. That is the proper way.

The problem is that democratic controlled states and cities are forcing it in the span of 6 months or less.
No voter feed back.
No discussion.
Why is that?
Why now?
You smell that?

Vote in person.

This and these type things should be "front & Center" on the national news casts but, most of us understand that TRUTH is not what they want ... they WANT viewers ... any way they can get them.

The automated machines that read your ballot and send the result off to the main computer have huge issues and are also third party non government controlled companies, which, are majority owned by left leaning owners.

There are about ten companies that supply machines and software around North America

Dominion voting systems is one used a lot here in Canada and some US states. They have had lots of issues with their systems , past owners were caught fiddling with results, the company has changed names a few times etc etc

9 out of 10 have CEOs who openly donate and support left leaning politicians,, makes you wonder why the hard push for mail in ballots that will go through a machine ?

A couple months ago here Dominion machines and systems were used to read ballots of the conservatives when the voted for a new leader... it was a complete disaster!

The machines screwed everything up, they shredded thousands of ballots, the process was delayed for hours, c they ended up physically piecing the shredded ballots together by hand,, then manually counting each one as teams of lawyers watched
