Flywheel dust cover

Post by Simmo »

Ive got a Dart SBC with 1 piece rear main seal and a chevy replica bellhousing to suit 11 flywheel.

Does anyone make a dust cover to suit this application, I can only find older 2 piece rear main seal.

I guessing Chevy never sold a manual car with 1 piece rear SBC (Gen 2, I think its 1987-92). So its only aftermarket.

If I had the dimensions of the rear main seal casting I could possibly chop up a Gen 1 dust cover. Does anyone have the DIA?

Is the BBC Gen5/6 rear main casting the same dia as a SBC Gen 2?

Chevy did sell manual V8s '87-92, in the form of T5 transmission 305-engined Camaro/Firebirds. Also Corvettes, with the 4+3 T10 or the ZF 6-speed.

This doesn't count trucks of course, which used the SBC until '98 or '00 or something. Also doesn't count LT1s, which only ever had T56 for manuals, but were otherwise 1-piece SBCs as far as the crank and bellhousing were concerned.
