A/C Service Ports

Post by chimpvalet »

Finalizing a scratch-built A/C system for my project car, asking for advice on where to place the service ports. Are there specific do's and don't's?

Personally ,I would but the low side port either on the accumulator or just before it on the evaporator coil side . So when charging as a liquid any liquid left after it flashes to a saturated vapor will be held in the accumulator and not flood the compressor with liquid . On the high side any where between the condenser coil and the evap. coil is good as long as its before the metering devices . That way if you have to take the refrigerant out you can pull it as mostly liquid and pump it down faster . just my view on it . Dan
