Not knowing any better, I like the opposed piston, four cycle, for several reasons ?
Surface to volume , energy density, CR. potential and burn speed. The more difficult part, four cycle. I like peripheral slide valves,(2
multi-port int./exh.). Interposed, facing each other, where pistons meet. 1-2 spark plugs or pre-chamber ? Valve operated by mech., hyd. or
solenoid. Slide valves are relatively light and need about .5" travel,( multi ports).
