This is why I've always said it wasn't emissions that killed power, it was Safety! I've seen kids do some dumb stuff in modern cars w/o a seatbelt on and be totally fine. Not long ago saw some idiots drifting on a busy highway n loose it head-on into a concrete sound wall, airbags in their modern luxury sports car saved them.

Back when horsepower went away, is about the same time there was lots of well paying no experience straight out of high school jobs. Too many were wrapping themselves around trees and it's not good business to kill of your customers.

I know as much as I can learn and try to keep an open mind to anything!

NHRA's recipe for disaster dumpster fire at a track near U some day. Stupid move on their part. Safety is for all not just older cars.

Not necessarily agreeing with it, but I will say the advancements in unibody construction are why they are doing this. A,B,and C, pillars are significantly stronger than they were some years ago. it is not uncommon to see a late model rollover that doesn't move any of the pillars.Only the roof skin is damaged. HSLA steel and triple wall construction of the pillars are the reason. No comparison from a late model car to one built as recently as the mid 2000's in terms of rigidity of the unibody.
