Q for the holden guys down under. Engine swap.

Post by chevyfreak »

To all the holden guys, i tried a search but not getting what i want to know.
Anybody over there fitted a pontiac 400/455 into a hq body?
A google search shows the v6 and jap sixes being done and then the ls units as well as sbc.
I have been pondering about the idea of doing a pontiac in my hq one tonner, but dont know if it will fit inside the frame, i can get a engine but dont want to buy if i cant use it.

The engine bay is huge. The only clearance issue is valve cover to brake booster (and aircon) if you have it fitted for anything large.

These things will swallow a BBC with not much more than engine mounts, plenty of room for pipes too.
