Just wanted to introduce myself here and the car. My brother and I have a 1978 Cutlass. Have owned it for 8 years...
406 SBC 13.6:1 compression, Powerglide trans w/1.76 gears, 12 bolt rearend with 4:56 gears. It is down at the moment for valve springs and a anti roll bar. I've done a good amount of reading on the site, and figured it was time to sign up. A great site you all have here!

Thanks! It was alot of fun. Soon as I went from 1.6/1.5 3/8 rockers to 1.6/1.6 shaft mounts, it picked up a tenth in the 1/4 and 2 mph. But killed the 60ft...Now after it twists, it unloads the tires violently. Tried trans braking it once, and it left two concrete patches in the track lol. Gonna have her together again in a few weeks!

Well when you get that anti roll in there hopefully it will help your launches a little and hopefully your weather will cooperate so you can get many more runs in before winter. Best wishes to you and have fun!

I had 78 Malibu that did that when I hit the switch for both 150HP nos kits,
let a buddy drive it once he went to leave the line and the cars goes up and
suddenly falls he's come back to the pits and I said what wrong he said I
let go thought I was going to tip over =D> .

This helped with my 79 Malibu if it's of interest to you.

Here it is in the end of october with a trz anti roll bar. Leaves alot straighter....but only a 1.49 60 ft. Need tighter front shocks and new springs in the rear. The current rear trick springs have 2 different spring rates. Hoping after those changes, and a few others it'll be in the 1.30s with a 9.9X et.
