Thanks for sharing Chad.

Hopefully Mr. Straub will continue to market CI as Rick did.

Question for you: are you simply raising the VE input until it shows the required intake port flow matches what your ports actually flow?

Yes but until it matches what the engine made for power. The difference is what wasn't accessed.

I see. I'm more concerned with using Pipemax to make sure all your ducks are in a row before the final build like "I want to make 'x' power so do I increase the VE input until the power matches my goal and then make sure the intake flows what Pipemax says it needs to?" or "I know my intake flows 'x' so do I adjust the VE input until it matches what Pipemax says it should flow and then look to see the predicted hp?"

I'm just not sure the best way to use the VE input prior to finalizing the engine combo. Did that make sense?

That's good way. Match it to what the induction flows. I ran it that way before I went. That is why on the 3rd pull when it made 530ish, I was content to just adjust timing and pull it off.

It can get tricky and the new Pipemax takes into consideration vacuum pumps, low friction rings, dyno corrections, etc.

Thanks, Chad. That definitely helps clear a few things up. I guess the question now is how much would a guy anticipate a Performer RPM Air-Gap with a 1.5 inch, tapered spacer and a 750 pulling out of a 270 cfm port? Clear down to 230 ish?

Yes it's very likely. Were the other ports taped off?

As a visual, here is how I do it. Foam out of Ferrea boxes.

Right on.

Is this closer to the right way to use Pipemax and C.I.? I'm assuming 230 cfm through an RPM Air-Gap and I'm not looking to C.I. for LSA and lift because it doesn't know if I'm using 30* seats or 55s. I'm probably using 50s. Plugging 109% VE in C.I. is probably wrong but it doesn't change much.

I really need the newer versions.
