I just noticed that the town, state, etc does not show up under the poster's name any more. Assuming it is in the poster's profile of course.
How about turning that feature back on?.
It's helpful to know where someone is from when they ask a question that may be altitude, country or region related.

You can add your location in your profile. When people click on your name to view your profile, it shows up. I just added Tampa, FL to mine.

I clicked on each of your profiles and the information is there. Maybe the problem lies in encouraging people to click on profiles?

When I read through people's past posts I have to do this.

I could swear it used to show up under our names without going to the profile.
It used to be optional if the location was entered in the profile. Still that way?

Yes, it did. I think/guess that the idea was to reduce the cluttered look. Right now the Hot Pass info displaces the guru, expert, etc. display along with wrench count (so, another change).

My guess is the location-field got sidetracked somehow because more/better location input (zip) was needed for HotPass Membership registrations.
Perhaps to prevent users having to enter their location twice which might cause confusion.

Personally I find seeing someone's location is very useful.
Even more someone's credentials / field of expertise, if he/she is willing to share ofcourse, but everyone is free to fill in their signature.

Location is now visible under the username.
Tried to look back when this changed but couldn't find it. I don't have any screenshots saved from the forum's topicpages on previous domain.
